ABOUT CRWA
The Colorado Rural Water Association (CRWA) is a non-profit corporation incorporated in November 1980 under the rules and laws of the state of Colorado. This organization provides technical assistance and training to Colorado's public and private water and wastewater systems having populations less than 10,000. About 98% of Colorado's 2095 public water systems serve communities that have populations less than 10,000.
The Association is an affiliate of the National Rural Water Association, (NRWA) which is headquartered in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Our activities are funded through the NRWA, which in turn receives funds through grants from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Rural Development Administration. The organization also relies on funding coming from membership dues.
CRWA cooperates closely with the State of Colorado, Colorado Department of Health and Environment, EPA and RDA as well as other state and federal agencies.
CRWA IS HELPING PEOPLE TO HELP THEMSELVES
Technical Assistance is provided on-site on a one-to-one basis through the Association's program technicians and circuit riders. Technical assistance is available to all water/wastewater systems for operational and maintenance problems.
Training is provided, in part through one-day locally conducted workshops and training sessions in the CRWA training center in Pueblo West. These workshops are for people interested in safe drinking water, regulations, management, plant operations and many related topics. Each year an annual conference is held with concurrent sessions and exhibits providing the latest technology in the water/wastewater industry. The workshops along with the conference provide an opportunity for operators to discuss with each other common problems and solutions.

The Association, with adequate membership can act effectively in representing the wishes of its membership at meetings and hearings of local, state and federal agencies.
