Job Title: Lead Water Operator. Will manage and train Junior Water Operators along with all other water operator duties.
License requirement: Colorado Class B Water Operator license with Type 2 Water Distribution Certification within twelve months of employment.

Salary $83,200 a year with Class B Operators License with Water Distribution Type 2 or $72,800 a year with Class C License with Water Distribution Type 2.

Manage and maintain all water distribution systems within the company’s service area, Maintain all water wells, water tanks, all value/meter stations and all chlorine monitoring stations. - Manage and order chemicals, parts, and supplies that are required.
- Perform locates of water distribution utility infrastructure as needed.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as pickup trucks, skid loaders, mini-excavators, and loaders.
- Read meters with remote reading equipment.
- Maintain mandatory training requirements by the company, state, and federal requirements.
- Respond to questions and concerns from our customers.
- Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed and that appropriate personal protective equipment is used by all staff members.
- Work with government agencies that have authority over the water utility system and maintain in-depth knowledge of State of Colorado or Federal government regulations.
- Working conditions require physical strength and physical ability to perform duties in water treatment plants, water tanks, well sites, pipeline installation and repair in sometime extreme weather, in cold or hot conditions. Operators must sometimes work at heights or below ground and around electrical hazards. Operators must have the ability to conduct activities requiring extensive walking, standing, or sitting, Operators must have the ability to lift, carry, push, loads up between 50 to 100 lbs. on a daily basis. Water operators must have the ability to perform activities requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, and reaching daily. There may be fumes, gases, and odors associated within the work environment.
- All water operators are required to have good computer, communication, interactive, customer service, and electronic operation skills.
- Water Operator must demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, maintain and confidentiality to handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Water Operator must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, prioritize workload with multiple shifting priorities and interruptions; follow up, and follow up-through on tasks; and equipment.

Water Utility Field Operation Specialist position open with the following minimum requirements:
1. Experience with earth moving equipment operation, and maintenance, not limited to loader, backhoe, excavator, skid loader, compactor or other type equipment use.

Weekend days and one (3/4 time) or two (full time) business days per week, 10-hour shifts.

General Statement of Duties: This position involves the daily operation, maintenance of the Town’s SBR wastewater treatment facility, collection system, potable water distribution system, equipment, and grounds in a professional, competent, and efficient manner representative of the expected standard for a Class “D” Licensed Operator, Class 1 Collections Operator and Class 1 Distribution Operator. This position prefers the possession and retention of three (3) operator licenses with the State of Colorado prior to hiring; but will consider anyone with some of the preferred licenses and a willingness to attain the others within one year of hire.
As a part of the Town’s Public Works Department, this position may at times need to participate in a variety of maintenance and construction work on Town streets, parks, cemetery, and other Town owned public facilities.

On a rotating basis, will be scheduled on call duty for nights and weekends. Including WWTF, collection or distribution emergencies. Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. May be called out for emergencies even when not on the rotational on-call schedule.
Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Water and Wastewater Utilities Foreman, Town Systems Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). No supervisory responsibility, however, as part of the utility team, should be willing to share and provide technical assistance to less experienced employees within the Public Works department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following examples are intended to be ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and are not intended to be all inclusive. The Town of Platteville retains the right to modify, change or add to the duties and essential functions at any time.
Serves as wastewater treatment facility (WWTF), collection and distribution system’s duty operator. Responsible daily operation activities of the wastewater and water systems and treatment facilities following the direction from the Town ORC.
Performs wastewater and water quality sample collection and some testing procedures to ensure water quality. Works with the ORC and contract staff to facilitate the Town’s cross connection control program activities. Performs wastewater and water pipeline maintenance; repair service and main line leaks; exercises water valves and fire hydrants; in accordance with the Town’s procedures and standard specifications. Reads water meters and identifies equipment problems; performs meter maintenance, including meter change-outs and shut-offs as required. Documents and records the routine maintenance, testing, sampling, repairs, inspections, construction projects and emergency service calls.
May operate medium to heavy equipment in the repair of wastewater collection and water distribution systems; including, use and/or operation of dump truck, backhoe, tractors and other small power equipment. Performs preventative maintenance to the water distribution system through valve exercising; Locates wastewater and water utilities using electronic locating devices. Work with data input for the Town’s GIS asset management program.
Operates pumps, motors, sludge equipment, UV disinfection system and other equipment. Cleans precipitates such as grit, solids, trash, and debris from sump, catch basin, grit chamber and other tanks, wet-wells, or vessels at the WWTF, lift stations or collection system. Perform laboratory analysis of wastewater, Biosolids, and sediments for chemical and microbiological contaminants, including calibration of instruments, keeping logs, Operate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments; maintain laboratory supplies; Perform routine laboratory duties such as preparing chemical reagents, media, and standard solutions; Work with a variety of hazardous materials including chemicals, solvents, and biohazards using appropriate safety precautions. Ability to understand regulations regarding wastewater treatment plants; Follow laboratory instructions and procedures. Resolve problems with minimal supervision and consultation with the Town’s ORC.
Performs general equipment inspection; Performs preventative and corrective maintenance; Operates, evaluates, and adjusts SCADA system. Reports on major changes, treatment conditions, and significant work orders to the ORC. Change chemical containers, dewaters sludge, and performs general plant maintenance and housekeeping including building and grounds. Must perform work in a safe manner utilizing the proper safety equipment and methods.
Participates in routine cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of the wastewater collections system. May be required to conduct confined space entries after completing appropriate training and education.

Summary
Under direction of the District Manager this single position classification is responsible for the financial accounting functions for Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD), which is a quasi-municipality organized as a Title 32 Special District under Colorado law. The purposes for this position classification are to plan, organize, and supervise all accounting-related functions for PAWSD including, but not limited to general accounting, policy development, cash management, budget, audit preparation, forecasting revenues and expenditures, purchasing and accounting-related contract compliance.
Position responsibilities include:
ï· Supervise personnel in providing financial services for PAWSD including, but not limited to training, scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, performance coaching, recommending or carrying out various personnel actions, and promoting a positive collaborative atmosphere.
ï· Research, evaluate, develop, and recommend general financial policies/procedures/manuals, and modifications to existing methods to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

ï· Prepare/review adjusting entries and schedules for annual audit; schedule audit and work with auditors in answering questions, providing necessary information and explaining accounting/financial system; review audit results and implement necessary/recommended internal controls and/or other revisions.
ï· Review district accounts for adequate operating cash and transfer funds between accounts.
ï· Coordinate preparation of PAWSD annual budget and other related documents. Analyze budget revenues/expenditures as needed. Prepare department budget requests and monitor expenditures for compliance with approved budget.
ï· Makes all investments per direction from the PAWSD Board of Directors.
ï· Prepare and assist with financing applications and preliminary and final official statements for general bond obligation issuance
ï· Ensures proper maintenance of accurate equipment inventory records within current asset management program. Maintains fixed asset inventory, facilities inventory, and works with department heads on disposal of surplus property.
ï· Prepare/review bi-weekly payroll records, quarterly and annual payroll returns, and other HR accounting-related matters.
ï· Perform other accounting and finance duties and any other duty assigned.
Position requirements:
ï· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business/Finance, from an accredited college/university. Thorough knowledge of accounting practices in the public sector including grant and fund accounting; budget analysis; preparation of financial statements; internal auditing of transactions; accounting software; and, general supervisory practices.
ï· Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook), computerized accounting systems, and 10key.

This full-time position is responsible for the overall administration of the water and wastewater systems and the direction of District employees. The District Manager reports directly to the Board and is responsible for providing information and guidance to the Board and carrying out its directives.
The Manager meets these responsibilities through supervisory staff and skilled trades assigned to the operations. The Manager is responsible for federal and state regulations governing public health and environmental protection associated with the treatment and delivery of potable water and collection, treatment, and discharge of wastewater.
Experience and technical skills and/or aptitude in utilities, water and wastewater operations, accounting/finance, construction and/or engineering, while not required, will be beneficial. Qualified candidates shall also possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the Board, District staff, residents, other governmental agencies, contractors, consultants, legal counsel, and engineers.

Water Plant
• Control treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and or industrial use.

They continue to build technical knowledge and experience with plant systems and procedures.
• Operator II:
This is the journey-level classification for operators with demonstrated competence and the ability to work independently. Employees perform a wide range of operational duties with minimal supervision, including troubleshooting equipment, interpreting water quality data, making process adjustments, and performing preventative maintenance. Operators at this level are expected to have a strong understanding of plant systems and regulatory standards.
• Operator III:
This is an advanced journey-level classification, requiring in-depth knowledge of treatment processes and regulatory compliance. Employees in this class serve as technical resources within the plant, assisting with complex operations, mentoring less experienced staff, and helping ensure operational consistency and adherence to safety procedures. While they do not hold supervisory authority, Operator IIIs may lead work tasks and provide on-the-job training and guidance to others. • Operator IV:
This is the senior-level classification within the operator series. POSITION SUMMARY
The Water Treatment Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring all phases of the Water Treatment Plant. This position will regulate plant flows to meet demands of the City of Fort Morgan. The Operator will be accountable for adjusting and maintaining chemical feed rates, maintenance operation, housekeeping of treatment processes, operation, maintenance and housekeeping of pumping and storage facilities, as well as other off-site facilities. All treatment process changes will be done under the supervision of a Class A Water Treatment Plant Operator. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
This position has been defined as a safety-sensitive position and the employee in this position is subject to DOT required pre-employment drug testing, and random drug and alcohol testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The utility operator will assist the Class A Operator in performing duties until such time that a competent level of training and certification has been achieved.

This position at the Buffalo Mountain Metropolitan District (BMMD) is responsible for supervising the activities, projects, operations and maintenance related to the BMMD water treatment/distribution and sewer wastewater collection systems throughout the Wildernest and Cortina Ridge communities in Summit County, CO. Other duties will include maintenance tracking, water meter program operations, GIS mapping, and cross-connection backflow program policy enforcement. Will assist in annual and long-term financial forecasting and budgeting to ensure projects meet operational and financial goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Water & Sewer Supervision
• Manage the maintenance agreement with BMMD’s water and sewer sub-contractor by supervising and coordinating all work conducted on the water distribution system including but not limited to: leak detection, water production vs. consumption, telemetry SCADA system, intake plant facility, PRV vaults, water treatment processes, water tank maintenance, booster station functionality, isolation valves, sewer backups, manhole maintenance, hydrant testing, lift station maintenance and maintenance tracking in the GIS software.
• Be available for on-call to manage water/sewer emergencies by coordinating emergency responses, post updates on the District website, manage public relations, and inform appropriate public entities (i.e., Sheriff, Fire Department, County, Summit Stage) of any water outages or road closures until emergency repairs until completed.
GIS Management
• Manage all BMMD infrastructure asset inventory by utilizing the BMMD’s ESRI ArcGIS mapping database. Identify and upload new infrastructure using the BMMD GPS unit, including personal property assets that are tied to the BMMD water and sewer system.
• Supervise ongoing maintenance work performed by the BMMD’s water/sewer subcontractor.
• Identify and record historical events.
• Analyze GIS data to support ongoing infrastructure planning and replacement to better understand trends and to set priorities. Maintain up-to-date mapping for new construction. Assist contractors and homeowners with mapping when needed.
Cross-Connection Backflow Program Policy Enforcement
• Enforce State and Federal laws by requiring properties to annually test backflow devices on water service lines that connect to the BMMD public water distribution system.
• Identify any new cross-connections and respond accordingly.
• Manage all annual State reporting and communication.
Leak Detection & Water Meter Operations
• BMMD utilizes an automated customer pay portal and water usage alert system called AquaHawk. This software automatically tracks water usage and notifies property owners of abnormal water usage. This position will assist customers with understanding water usage when needed.
• Respond to failed water meters and Meter Transmission Units (MTU) error reports. Troubleshoot MTUs as necessary and coordinate with plumbers for meter replacements.
Infrastructure Project Management
• In conjunction with the BMMD Manager, will oversee the execution of all infrastructure repairs and/or replacement projects. Work closely with engineering firms during project planning. Review work in progress for compliance with project specifications, including the schedule. Identify and report any work that is not compliant with the specified plans.
• Manage subcontractors work on all BMMD water/sewer facilities.
Planning & Asset Management
• Update and monitor the BMMD capital improvement plan. Monitor infrastructure life cycles and plan for repair or replacement.
• Assist in long-term financial forecasting and budgeting to ensure BMMD projects meet operational and financial goals.
• Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations to the manager or board of directors as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Technician is responsible for supporting various field and yard tasks related to the wastewater industry. This role is primarily focused on fieldwork, including washing, pressure cleaning, and job site cleanup. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and reliable, able to work independently while representing the company in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
ï§ Perform high-pressure washing and thorough cleanup at job sites
ï§ Operate field equipment such as jetters, vac units, and Hotsy pressure washers
ï§ Assist in confined space entry tasks and site preparation
ï§ Operate and maintain plant processing and yard equipment efficiently
ï§ Drive company vehicles safely to and from job locations
ï§ Operate forklifts as needed (experience preferred)
ï§ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
ï§ Support vacuum truck operators with various tasks when needed
ï§ Participate in special projects and carry out additional duties as assigned
ï§ Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
CERTIFICATIONS:
ï§ Valid Driver’s License
ï§ Forklift Certification (preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS:
ï§ High School Diploma or GED required
ï§ Must be self-motivated and dependable
ï§ Ability to stay focused and avoid distractions (e.g., unnecessary cell phone use)
ï§ Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
ï§ Must pass background check and drug screening
ï§ Knowledge of pneumatic pumps is a plus
ï§ Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude
ï§ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ï§ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role involves driving for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed outdoors at active job sites that require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). All sites are considered safety-sensitive locations.
